Our holographic pigment powders are super fine micro flakes to be used on nails or in nail products. This holographic powder can be buffed on the nail to create a super linear holographic effect or added into nail polish/suspension base to create a more dispersed holographic effect. It is heat resistant, and non-soluble in solvents and water. Particle sizes come in 20, 35, 50, 80, and 165 microns.
Container: 1g stackable jar by volume
Particle size: 50 micron diameter, 1-2 microns thickness
Ingredients: Aluminum coated PET
Instructions: Add very small amounts and mix thoroughly before adding more. A little goes a long way. This pigment is very fine and dusty. Make sure to use in a well ventilated area or where a mask to avoid inhalation.
Buffing Option 1: Gel nail polish, which is the traditional way to apply any pigment powder. Completely finish your gel manicure and end with a no wipe top coat. After you cure it fully, use a silicone makeup/craft tool to buff on the pigment. The more you buff the more it will create a smooth chromatic look. If you prefer a more grainy look like pictured, apply with a clean finger, makeup brush or makeup sponge. Top it off with another layer of gel top coat.
Buffing Option 2: Regular nail polish. Yes, it's possible to get this look with regular polish. Through my experiments I found the best results with first applying a base coat and your color. After fully dried you can either buff directly onto the color or apply a base coat (NOT a top coat). Buff with either your finger, a makeup sponge, or makeup brush with regular polish. It can come up if using a silicone tool. Finish with a glossy top coat.
Buffing Option 3: There are possible better ways to achieve the full holographic chrome effect, so experiment with different things and see what works best for your process!
